The Carry-On Packing Checklist We Print and Tape to the Wall

Most checklists are organised the way a shop is organised — clothing, toiletries, electronics. That's useless at 6am. Ours is organised by compartment, so you pack in one pass and you can see a gap immediately.
Main compartment
- Clean clothing cube, compressed
- Empty flat pouch for worn clothing
- Second pair of shoes, soles facing out, in a bag
- Rain shell on top where you can reach it
Front panel
- Toiletry roll — under 100 ml, in one clear bag
- Charger brick, two cables, adapter
- Notebook, pen, spare mask
Laptop sleeve
- Laptop
- Slim folder for printed reservations
- Kindle or paperback
Top grab pocket
- Passport and boarding pass
- Earplugs and eye mask
- Lip balm, painkillers, a snack
- Battery pack, charged the night before
The last five minutes
Weigh it. A hand scale takes ten seconds and removes the only genuinely stressful moment of any airport morning. Then photograph the open bag — if it goes missing, that photo is your claim.
